Deciding to continue her family legacy and fulfill her life long dream, Connie opened Heritage Ridge Equestrian Facility in September of 2015. "Horses have always been a part of my life, and God willing will continue to be for many years to come". " The line between passion and obsession can sometimes become blurred however looking out my kitchen window at these magnificent animals and teaching a new generation of horseman bring me great pleasure". Working with youth for over 20 years as a 4H club leader, Connie looks forward to sharing her knowledge with all those that pass through the doors of this facility.
At Heritage Ridge our family tree is rooted in horses and as such we have a diverse skill set in both our horsemanship experience as well as our education. Connie grew up in 4H, played western polo as a kid and competed in both English and Western riding events. Currently she enjoys trail riding, and caring for the horses that board at Heritage Ridge. Her children Timothy and Stephanie, both experienced equestrians, are currently working in unique areas of the equine industry. Timothy a Cornell University graduate is the manager of a private equestrian facility and is an accomplished carriage driver. Stephanie an Alfred University and SUNY New Paltz graduate works as a trainer, and lesson instructor at a large competition stable. Both children competed in college in IHSA. Stephanie still competes regularly in IHSA alumi horse shows. Their grandfather and Connie's dad has successfully ran large boarding facilities for over 40 years and enjoys as much time in the saddle time as he can get.
With a Masters degree in education, when not in the barn, you will find Connie at Erie Community College where she is the Director of Clinical Education and a professor in the Respiratory Care Program. Stop by and say hi, Connie would love to show you around.
